Manchester United fans all say the same thing after Liverpool's Thiago and Jota signings

Liverpool enjoyed a busy day on Friday, with Jurgen Klopp ending the week with two significant pieces of business in the transfer market.

The signing of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich was confirmed, sending supporters into a frenzy, but the work was not yet done for the day.

Liverpool swiftly moved to land Diogo Jota from Wolves, bolstering their depth in the attacking third - something that many have called to happen for a while.

While it remains to be seen when each player will make their debuts, it has provided Klopp's side with a tremendous boost as they compete across a handful of competitions - and attracted the envy of rival supporters.

Club officials moved quickly to secure a big-money switch that sees Jota become the fourth most expensive player in Liverpool history behind Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Naby Keita.

Liverpool have tracked Jota for the past two seasons in the Premier League, with his pace, work-rate and ability to play in a number of positions seen as attractive traits to Klopp in his attempts to secure some top-quality competition for the likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

Jota has scored 16 goals across the last two full seasons in the top flight at Wolves.

But it is his work-rate on and off the ball that has particularly impressed Klopp, it is understood.

Talks for Thiago accelerated from Monday as Bayern Munich were keen to settle matters before the new Bundesliga season began on Friday, when the 29-year-old was confirmed a Liverpool player.

Meanwhile, Manchester United fans on social media have spent the summer being extremely critical of the lack of movement from their side in the market and their frustrations were ramped up a notch after the quickfire Liverpool deals.

Having spent the summer swooning over Jadon Sancho, with Borussia Dortmund insisting they've missed their chance for a deal in this window, United have so far added just Donny Van de Beek to their ranks.

Amidst that, they have also been linked with a wealth of names from across world football and seeing Liverpool complete two major pieces of business so quickly has tipped some over the edge.
