Manchester United fans all say the same thing about Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes after AC Milan win

Manchester United fans hailed Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes as the best midfield pairing in world football after the Reds booked their place in the Europa League quarter-finals.

With the last-16 tie against AC Milan in the balance ahead of their trip to the San Siro, Pogba came off the bench to settle proceedings.

It was an excellent second-half United performance, with Pogba's winner enough to see them complete 'The Italian Job' - as Fernandes described it on his social media channels post-match.

In posting a celebratory dressing room image of the pair, the Portuguese ace drew the same response from United fans across the board, who claim that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the luxury of being able to call upon the two best midfielders in world football right now.

At the expense of former United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the club now await news of who they will face in the last eight as they aim to end their four-year trophy drought.

Having fallen behind runaway Premier League table-toppers Manchester City, the Europa League, along with the FA Cup, offers them a genuine chance to win their first piece of silverware under Solskjaer.

And if these comments from United fans are anything to go by, World Cup winner Pogba and Fernandes will have a huge part to play in that double charge.

United manager Solskjaer hailed Pogba's impact in Italy.

"We've missed Paul," Solskjaer told BT Sport after the midfielder's first appearance since February 6. "He's been out for almost two months and of course any team would miss a player like Paul Pogba.

"He was just getting into his best form and he's going to give us a big boost for the rest of the season. And today he made a very big difference to us."
