Manchester United fans all said the same thing about Sergio Reguilon's Tottenham debut

Sergio Reguilon was linked with a move to Manchester United this summer - but ended up joining Tottenham Hotspur from Real Madrid.

Spurs landed the left-back, who spent last season on loan at Sevilla, for a fee of around £28million.

The 23-year-old made his debut for the North London club in Tuesday night's Carabao Cup fourth round tie with Chelsea.

And he did not make the greatest first impression for Jose Mourinho's side.

Reguilon was beaten all ends up by fellow Spaniard Cesar Azpilicueta as he rashly dived into a tackle in the 19th minute

It proved costly as seconds later, Timo Werner opened the scoring with his first goals since joining the Blues from RB Leipzig.

This prompted quite a reaction from United fans on Twitter. Here's what some had to say...

@thereddevilway: Reguilon getting sent to the shops. Could never be my left back.

@MufcKieren: Starting to think we dodged a bullet with Reguilon. Would've been a glorified loan deal if he did well and as we've seen against Chelsea defensively he's rash.

@iampkid: Don't tell me this was the same Reguilon we (Manchester United) wanted to buy.

@UtdNani_: Nah Reguilon is actually class.

@BanchesterUtdO: Who is Reguilon even.

@RealistGlizzy: Reguilon getting sent on his debut, we were always clear.

@anandshnkr: Sergio Reguilon is never playing for Real Madrid. Dodged a bullet there!

@DXMCL: Anybody glad we didn’t sign Reguilon then?

@mcollins_93: Reguilon error. Glad we didn’t sign him.

@MerlinUnited: Looks like we dodged a bullet with Reguilon...

@Mudi_Mats: Lolz Sergio Reguilon was skinned for that goal. #MUFC dodged a bullet.

@terryflewers: Reguilon is shocking!!
