Manchester United fans aim cheeky dig at Arsenal FC as Europa League opponent revealed

Manchester United fans have poked fun at Premier League rivals Arsenal following the Europa League last 16 draw.

United booked their place in the next round following a 6-1 aggregate victory over Club Brugge, with goals from Bruno Fernandes, Odion Ighalo, Scott McTominay and Fred securing a 5-0 win at Old Trafford last night.

The Reds will face LASK Linz next with the Austrian side proving to be the surprise package in the competition so far. They defeated PSV Eindhoven and Sporting Lisbon in the group stage and knocked out AZ Alkmaar last night.

LASK sit top of the Austrian Bundesliga - ahead of Red Bull Salzburg - and will be a tough test for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 's men.

United fans reacted to the draw on social media and couldn't resist a dig at Arsenal after the Gunners were knocked out by Olympiacos at the Emirates Stadium.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's overhead kick looked to have booked their place in the next round but a late goal from the Greek side saw Mikel Arteta's men crash out.

United fans were quick to remind their Premier League rivals that they were not in the hat for the draw.

Here is what they said on social media:

The first leg will take place in Linz on March 12, with the second leg taking place at Old Trafford on March 19.

United have never lost in eight previous European meetings with Austrian sides, winning seven and drawing one of those matches, conceding just one goal.

Their hopes could rest on the shoulders of Bruno Fernandes and fans will be pleased to hear the Portuguese has already downed their opponents once this season, scoring and assisting during Sporting's home win against LASK in the group stage.
