Manchester United fans admit they were wrong about Fred after Burnley performance

Manchester United fans have identified Fred as an unsung hero in their recent form that has seen them move to within one point of the Premier League top four.

A hard-fought victory at Burnley on Saturday followed the comfortable home win over Newcastle on Boxing Day to answer critics of United after the defeat at bottom side Watford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have now lost just once in nine games, and have shown they are serious top four contenders.

Central to the recent form has been midfielder Fred, as the Brazilian has shown continued improvement all season to establish himself as a key member of Solskjaer's midfield.

Fred has been partnered by Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic over the last two games, but has kept his performance levels high amid injuries to his teammates. It has been quite the turnaround for a player who had been often criticised for his performances when he joined for £52m in 2018.

Now, after another impressive showing at Turf Moor, fans have held their hands up for doubting Fred and praised the midfielder for turning his form around at Old Trafford.
