Manchester United fan urges Red Devils to sign Newcastle midfielder in incredible radio rant

A Manchester United fan has called on the club to sign Newcastle United midfielder Jonjo Shelvey in an incredible rant on TalkSPORT.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side struggling for creativity in midfield, they have been linked with the likes of Leicester and England star James Maddison as a possible solution.

Solskjaer is under pressure after Wednesday's defeat to Burnley signalled United's worst start to a Premier League campaign since its inception in 1992.

Red Devils fan Steven took to the airwaves this morning to air his frustrations and highlighted the need for Manchester United to sign someone who can pick out the runs of the likes of Anthony Martial and Daniel James with a killer pass.

And when asked whether Aston Villa's Jack Grealish, who has been linked with the Red Devils, would solve their creativity problems, Steven offered Newcastle's Shelvey as one of two possible solutions.

“No, not even Grealish. I’d like to see a Mark Noble in there," he said.

“Someone who is going to pick the young lads up and drive them forward and he can pick out long balls.

“Get a Mark Noble or a Jonjo Shelvey in there, that’s what we need.

“We don’t need to be spending £60m or £70m on players when we could pick up those two for £20m!”
