Manchester United face major disciplinary concern ahead of Liverpool clash

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire is walking a disciplinary tightrope ahead of the showdown with Liverpool on Sunday.

Maguire will be banned from the Anfield clash if he picks up a booking in United's Premier League game at Burnley on Tuesday.

The Carabao Cup semi-finalists will leapfrog Liverpool at the top of the table if they avoid defeat against Sean Dyche's side.

Centre-back Maguire has accrued four bookings in 16 Premier League games this season, and another at Turf Moor will result in an automatic suspension.

Players are handed a one-match ban if they earn five bookings up to and including their team's 19th league game of a season.

A two-match ban is awarded to those who reach 10 yellows inside the first 32 games of the campaign.

No Liverpool player has totalled more than two bookings in the Premier League this season, with Sadio Mane and Fabinho the only members of Jurgen Klopp's side to have been shown the yellow card more than once in the top flight.
