Manchester United will have to deal with something of a selection dilemma in the New Year with four players set to miss fixtures due to their international commitments.
The majority of United's players will not be in international action again before the next break in March; however that isn't the case for those representing countries in CONMEBOL and CONCACAF.
Qualifying is yet to finish in the Americas, with an extra international window sanctioned in January throwing a spanner in the works of United's preparations that month.
It means United could be without both Edinson Cavani and Fred during the Premier League 'winter break' in which the club could be playing in the FA Cup fourth round.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will also have to deal with the start of the African Cup of Nations, which could see Ivorian duo Eric Bailly and Amad absent for a prolonged period of time.
The winter break was cancelled last season due to the covid-enforced altered season, which saw fixtures packed in tightly, but has been reinstated for the current campaign.
It will take place between United's home fixture against West Ham on 23 January and their trip to face Burnley on 8 February, however it could be cut short given the FA Cup fourth round takes place on the weekend of 5 February.
United will likely be without their quartet of players for a potential FA Cup date but will hope to have them all back in time for their visit to Turf Moor.
