Manchester United eyeing Chelsea transfer target as Malang Sarr hails Premier League debut

Manchester United compete for Tchouameni

A name long-linked with Chelsea, the Blues now reportedly have considerable competition in the race for French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

90min claim that the Red Devils are paying increasing attention to the young Monaco man, alongside their intentions to sign a new midfielder next year.

Tchouameni of course impressed for France in the Nations League Finals as Les Bleus ran out victors.

The 21-year-old midfielder has just under three years remaining on his current contract at the Stade Louis II.

Sarr hails ‘tough’ Premier League bow

Malang Sarr was certainly one of the surprise names on the Chelsea teamsheet at the weekend against Brentford.

However, he played extremely well on his Premier League debut and has since been giving his thoughts on his maiden appearance in the competition.

He said: "It was a tough game but I enjoyed it, a difficult opponent today and we knew this game would be difficult today. We’ve done the job.”

Mendy compared to Salah

One of Chelsea’s other star performances at the Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday was Senegalese stopper Edouard Mendy.

He produced a stunning series of saves to frustrate the home side and has since been compared to Liverpool star Mo Salah by Jody Morris.

Writing on Twitter, he said: “Mendy is up there with Salah so far this season!!!! Won’t get the same plaudits but his level of performance in his position is upper echelon.”
