Manchester United eye Stoke City starlet; Leeds United join Sheffield Wednesday in striker hunt - latest Championship rumours

Manchester United are still yet to make an approach for Swansea City's Daniel James.

The 21-year-old is widely regarded as one of the most promising talents in British football and has been linked with a host of Premier League sides in the last few months.

But despite speculation that United were on the brink of a deal with the Swans, WalesOnline are reporting that the Red Devils have not yet made any official approach for the winger.

West Brom have ruled out a permanent move for Dwight Gayle.

Gayle has been on loan from Newcastle United this season, with Solomon Rondon going in the opposite direction.

But despite scoring 24 goals, the Mirror are reporting that Albion technical director Luke Dowling has confirmed the club will not try to keep Gayle on a permanent basis.

Stoke City have announced their retained list for next season, with Charlie Adam, Darren Fletcher and Jakob Haugaard all leaving the club this summer.

The Potters confirmed that the trio will leave the bet365 Stadium in a statement released on their website on Monday morning.

Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly one of five clubs hoping to capture Den Haag striker Sheraldo Becker this summer.

Leeds United, Derby County, Middlesbrough and Swansea City are all in the race for the 24-year-old’s signature, according to the Mirror.

Becker will be available on a free transfer as he is out of contract with the Dutch side in the summer.
