Manchester United 'express interest' in Ajax star Hakim Ziyech

Manchester United will battle Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool for the signature of Ajax sensation Hakim Ziyech, according to the latest transfer gossip.

The Mirror claim the English clubs are interested in the 26-year-old after his performances helped the Dutch side knock out Real Madrid and Juventus in this season's Champions League.

United have previously been linked with Ziyech's Ajax teammate David Neres as they look to bolster their attack. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said United won't sign as many as six players in the upcoming summer transfer window, but Sunday's 4-0 defeat to Everton has highlighted the changes needed at Old Trafford.

United vice chairman Ed Woodward travelled to Amsterdam last month though it is understood the purpose of his visit wasn't to scout Ajax players.

Elsewhere, United have been joined by rivals Man City in the race to sign Benfica wonderkid Joao Felix, according to latest reports.

Liverpool, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Wolves have previously been named as potential destinations for the 19-year-old Portuguese playmarker who has scored 15 goals in all competitions this season.

Goal.com report that Pep Guardiola's side have joined the race with sporting director Txiki Begiristain travelling to Lisbon to scout Felix, though the Benfica starlet is reported to have a £106m release clause in his contract.

In terms of outgoings at United in the summer, the rumours linking Paul Pogba with a move to Real Madrid won't go away.

Spanish news outlet AS are reporrting that Pogba's wage demands will scupper any potential move to the Santiago Bernabeu, despite the fact the Frenchman has previously claimed playing for Real would be a "dream for any player".
