Manchester United evening headlines: Early Aston Villa team news, Reds face 'competition' for Haaland

Here are the latest headlines on Manchester United on Saturday November 30.

Early Aston Villa  team news

Scott McTominay could be back for Manchester United but Paul Pogba is still out.

Luke Shaw and Axel Tuanzebe both made their first starts after returning from injury on Thursday in Astana while Brandon Williams is likely to be involved having stayed behind in Manchester with the rest of the first team.

Eric Bailly, Diogo Dalot, Nemanja Matic and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are all still sidelined and will miss tomorrow’s game against Aston Villa.

United face 'competition' for Haaland

There has been plenty of reports of the past week stating that United will make a move for Erling Haaland in the January transfer window,  but they’re set to face plenty of competition.

According to Norwegian outlet VG SPORT , scouts of both Barcelona, Real Madrid and United have seen the 19-year-old play this season, with several other clubs having also sent members of staff.

As well as that trio, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Valencia and Seville are said to have watched the forward, as he brought his goal tally to 27 in 19 games in midweek.

Berbatov makes Rashford captaincy prediction

Dimitar Berbatov believes that Marcus Rashford could one day become captain of Manchester United.

Rashford has already made 188 appearances for United, despite only being 22.

Since making his senior debut aged 18, Rashford  has gone on to establish himself as a United and England regular, scoring 55 goals for the club despite the varying fortunes of the club.

And Berbatov can see the Manchester-born striker staying at Old Trafford for the rest of his career and believes he may even wear the armband in the future.

“He is still so young and no doubt he will be on the radar of a few other clubs, but I see him as a typical born and bred Manchester United player,” the Bulgarian told BetFair.

Matic set for Milan

Inter Milan are ready to make a move for Nemanja Matic rather than Arturo Vidal in January, with Antonie Conte keen to strengthen his midfield ahead of a Champions League and Serie A push, according to reports.

Matic has become somewhat of an outcast at Manchester United, and is likely to cost the Italian giants less than €25m (£21.3m).

Tuttomercato believe Matic could initially move to the San Siro on loan in January before making his move permanent in the summer.
