Manchester United evening headlines as mixed injury news received

Here are your Manchester United headlines for the evening of Tuesday, November 10.

United handed Rashford injury boost, but Shaw out

Marcus Rashford appears to have shaken off the shoulder injury suffered in Manchester United’s 3-1 away win over Everton on Saturday.

The 23-year-old went down holding his shoulder in the second half at Goodison Park prompting fears he could be set for a spell on the sidelines, adding to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s growing injury list.

However, Rashford’s inclusion in the England squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League games against Belgium and Iceland, and the friendly against the Republic of Ireland, hints at a quicker than anticipated recovery.

However, there was worse news regarding Luke Shaw. The left-back limped out of proceedings midway through the second half at Everton with a hamstring problem and will now be sidelined until December.

Victor Lindelof, who has been suffering from a back complaint, is set to miss Sweden's match in Denmark but will link up with the national side in Stockholm on Thursday.

United academy named Premier League’s most productive

Manchester United have been named the Premier League’s “most productive training club” when it comes to producing players for Europe’s top leagues.

A study published by the CIES Football Observatory proves the work being done by the United academy, with the Old Trafford club producing more players for the top 31 leagues in Europe than any other club.

The list is topped by Real Madrid (43), Barcelona (32) and Lyon (31), but Manchester United (24) are the highest-ranked of the Premier League clubs, producing 24 players between the ages of 15 and 21 over the last three seasons.

Arsenal are ranked close behind United on 23, with Chelsea next in the list on 20. The overall table showed Manchester United have produced 35 players in total in Europe’s top 31 leagues.

Neville sends Mourinho warning

Gary Neville has sent a warning to United’s fanbase over a potential Jose Mourinho title challenge as Tottenham Hotspur manager.

While United have struggled for form over the early part of the season, Spurs sit second in the Premier League table, raising the prospect of a title charge Neville believes would send shockwaves through the Reds.

“I said a couple weeks ago on Monday Night Football that Spurs couldn't win the league, and I still don't think they can,” he said on The Gary Neville Podcast.

“But I do agree with Jamie Carragher that it would be the most outstanding story to see Jose Mourinho win the Premier League with Tottenham.

"It would be something that would alarm Chelsea fans, Manchester United fans and Arsenal fans. It would be one of the great stories, because Tottenham don't win leagues.

"He’s got the forward players to do it. You think of the strike force and the goal - it's incredible.”
