Manchester United evening headlines as Keane slams Rashford and Man City star calls Utd 'average'

Roy Keane criticises Manchester United player Marcus Rashford over body language

Roy Keane has criticised Marcus Rashford after England’s 2-1 victory over Belgium on Sunday.

Rashford scored England’s equaliser during a solid performance for his country, but Keane had harsh words for both Rashford and Harry Maguire in the wake of the game.

Keane questioned Rashford’s body language during the first-half, believing he could have done more as Belgium dominated the opening 45 minutes.

“Rashford in the first-half was going through the motions,” Keane said on ITV. “‘I just want to make a point, Rashford, his body language in the first half, he needs to do better.

“And then he started doing what he should be doing, running at people, getting forward, doing things quickly. Gareth Southgate should have said something at half-time, cut out this nonsense, kind of standing on the ball.”

Manchester United stance on further academy loan exits before EFL transfer deadline

Di’Shon Bernard is the most likely of United’s young players to leave the club on loan.

United have sent several academy players out on loan this summer. Max Taylor is the most recent player to leave the club and joins Under-23 teammates Dylan Levitt, James Garner, Tahith Chong, Matej Kovar and Aliou Traore in securing a temporary move.

The MEN Sport understands centre-back Bernard, 19, has been in discussions with clubs from League One and League Two about a possible loan deal.

The deadline for loan deals with EFL clubs is this Friday. It is believed that right-back Ethan Laird and Spanish central midfielder Arnau Puigmal will stay at Old Trafford.

Man City loanee Angelino calls Manchester United 'average’ ahead of Champions League meetings

RB Leipzig will not be intimidated by an ‘average’ Manchester United side, according to defender Angelino.

The fullback is on loan from Manchester City and was discussing Leipzig’s Champions League opponents which include Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir.

He told rblive.de: “I don’t know that much about Basaksehir. We know Paris from the semi-finals in the tournament in Lisbon.

“And what I’ve seen from Manchester United so far: Sometimes they’re world class, sometimes they’re average. We don’t have to hide.”

He also drew comparisons between Julian Nagelsmann and Pep Guardiola and you can read the full piece here.
