Here are your Manchester United evening headlines for Wednesday, February 10.
Bruno's reaction to McTominay goal
Scott McTominay's seventh goal of the season secured United's passage into the FA Cup quarter-finals against West Ham United on Tuesday night. The extra-time goal, a well-taken strike from Marcus Rashford's cut-back, was the highlight of a rather drab affair.
As McTominay wheeled away in celebration, Bruno Fernandes chased after him and shouted: "Hey, that ball was for me, m***********" The comment, a clearly sarcastic one, was well-taken by McTominay, who has a good relationship with Fernandes.
Earlier this season, the Scot was asked about the playmaker. "He's very demanding, he's a No.10 who wants the ball, but he's been a breath of fresh air," he responded glowingly.
"He's got a personality and that's what this football club needs, he has that in abundance."
Solskjaer's message to Henderson
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sent a message of support to Dean Henderson, who started in place of David de Gea in the FA Cup win over West Ham.
Henderson kept a clean sheet in a quiet evening for the 23-year-old, who will surely be growing impatient with his lack of starting opportunities in the Premier League.
But Solskjaer was pleased with how little the Englishman had to do, highlighting that that is something goalkeepers must learn, as De Gea has mastered.
"I always hope our 'keeper has a quiet night when we play and most of the time it's happened that way," he said. "Today, he was clearing everything a bit, apart from the last header, he might have taken his eye off the ball a little bit.
"As a 'keeper, David's been used to this for years, to keep concentrated, eye on the ball, suddenly one moment comes up and you have to make a save. I hope that's the way it's going to be for our keepers for many, many years."
Why Greenwood was substituted
Mason Greenwood was substituted shortly before extra-time against West Ham because Solskjaer is managing the youngster's game-time.
Still only 19, Greenwood was withdrawn for Edinson Cavani on the 86th minute. This is despite outperforming both Rashford and Anthony Martial.
Greenwood has now started in six of United's last seven games and Solskjaer said that he wanted to manage his minutes, especially in comparison to Martial.
"Mason did really well," the United boss explained. "He played well. We're managing his minutes. He's played the last three now from the start and Anthony played a game the other week and didn't play the last game, so we wanted him to complete the game.
"Marcus, we wanted to keep him for the counter threats, the pace. Mason was really positive tonight."
