Manchester United drop team news hint ahead of Spurs clash on Wednesday

Manchester United have dropped a team news hint for their Premier League clash against Spurs on Wednesday evening.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team are in action against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon, with the squad arriving at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester as usual the night before the game.

Central midfield duo Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba were not among the players who arrived with the team before the match against Dean Smith's side.

McTominay suffered an ankle injury in the win against Brighton three weeks ago, and looks set to miss the match against former Man United manager Jose Mourinho's side.

Pogba, meanwhile, is continuing to undergo rehab in Miami on his own ankle injury, which has been a persistent problem for him this season.

Solskjaer revealed in his pre-match press conference that Pogba could possibly return in time to face Spurs, though it is unlikely he will be risked if he is not fully fit for the game at Old Trafford.

"So he's stepping up his recovery and let's see how soon he'll be match-fit and available," Solskjaer told reporters.

"Of course, that's gonna be a new signing for us, he's not really been able to play for us so when we get him back it'll be like a new world-class signing, a new world-class midfielder.

"Sunday, no. Tottenham? I can't say now, because I've not been home and seen him, let's see where he's at when he comes back and starts training with us.

"Of course we've missed him when he's been away, some of the players - Scotty and Fred - have taken up that challenge and done well, but of course it's a boost for us when he comes back.

"We hope Scotty will be back as soon as possible and he's been back home so I've not seen him. Maybe Villa, maybe Spurs, hopefully for Sunday."

However, McTominay's absence from the team arriving on Saturday night suggests that he will not be involved against Aston Villa.
