Manchester United drawn to face AC Milan in Europa League last 16

Manchester United will face AC Milan in the Europa League last 16 following the draw in Nyon on Friday.

The Reds booked their place in the second knockout round with a 4-0 aggregate win over Real Sociedad, secured with a 4-0 first leg in Turin combined and a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.

Speaking ahead of the draw, United great Paul Scholes called on United's star players to step up when it matters most after four successive semi-final defeats under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He said: "It’s four semi-finals if you count the one this year, which isn’t great. You need to go to that next level now, he (Solskjaer) has seen them do well, get to a certain place, get to second in the league and then fall away.

"They’ve got to find that extra bit of quality. The big players in the big games have to step up and they’ve been unable to do that at this moment in time.

"But they have to do it now for Manchester United to go to that next level, win titles, win cups, whatever it may be - these players need to step up now."
