Manchester United discover Jack Grealish price tag plus more transfer rumours

Aston Villa will refuse to lower their £80million asking price for Jack Grealish even if they are relegated amid interest from Manchester United, according to reports.

MEN Sport understands that United will continue their pursuits of their priority targets this summer despite the coronavirus crisis and Grealish is high on their wish list alongside Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham.

The Villa captain has had a successful return to the Premier League this season, despite his side's lowly position, and United have chosen to prioritise him over Leicester City's James Maddison.

Grealish has nine goals and eight assists this season and Villa are not willing to let their talisman go without a fight.

According to the Mirror, Villa will refuse to budge on their £80million asking price for Grealish even if they do fall back to the Championship when the season is finally concluded.

It's claimed that as their owners, Nassef Sawaris and Wes Edens, are worth a combined £12billion that the club won't be bullied into letting Grealish leave below his fair market value.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has previously discussed how United could 'exploit' the transfer market in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and MEN Sport understands that United believe Grealish could be available for a cheaper fee, especially if Villa - second from bottom in the Premier League - are relegated.

However, a deal could be in doubt if Villa stick to their guns as Ed Woodward has warned that lofty transfer fees might not be possible this summer as "nobody should be under any illusions about the scale of challenge facing everyone in football and it may not be 'business as usual' for any clubs, including ourselves, in the transfer market this summer."

Meanwhile, United are reportedly working on a transfer for Bayern Munich’s Corentin Tolisso as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba.

That is the latest claim by the Sunday Express who report that United tried to get Tolisso on loan in January, but that Bayern could be open for permanent transfer offers in the summer.

Tolisso isn’t an automatic pick in Hansi Flick’s side, but is highly rated, with Inter Milan, Juventus, Napoli and Atletico Madrid all linked as well.
