Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof makes Premier League winter break prediction

Victor Lindelof believes the introduction of a winter break to the Premier League will have a positive impact on the competition.

Manchester United are set to be affected by the inaugural mid-season break next season when top-flight football is staggered in order for sides to benefit from a rest.

The first ever winter break is set to take place across two weeks in February with ten clubs set to play over one weekend, while the other ten sides will play the weekend after.

Many other top leagues in Europe already have a similar system in place and Lindelof believes such a change will benefit the top-flight of English football.

“I think it’s good actually,” the Sweden international told MUTV.

“I think, if you look at the other countries, they always have a winter break and I think it’s important for the mind and the body as well to get a little bit of rest so you can keep going and work hard throughout the season.

“So yeah, I’m all for it. I know in England we’ve always played a lot during the winter while others have rested a little bit, so I I think it’s going to be good. I think people will enjoy it.”
