Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has aspirations of adding more goals to his game, insisting his current level of goalscoring is "not enough."
The defender, who will be hoping to help United secure the local bragging rights when they welcome Manchester City to Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime, has scored just one goal for the Reds since the start of last season, that coming against City at the Etihad Stadium in March.
Since then, of course, Shaw has found the net on international duty for England, that coming in the final of the European Championship against Italy, when he fired the Three Lions in front inside less than two minutes.
However, that remains his only goal since the end of the 2020/21 domestic season, highlighting the former Southampton man's desire to increase his attacking output.
Now, Shaw has admitted that coaches having been telling him that he should be scoring more goals, despite his primary role being to keep them out at the other end.
"Something I want to do more of is adding more goals to my game," Shaw told EnglandFootball.com. "Even though I am a full-back, coaches are always saying that I should be scoring more goals each season.
"I know my job is not to score goals but scoring once a year or whatever it is I score is not enough.
"Although I am a defender, full backs nowadays are attacking players as well so I would like to score more goals."
Often deployed at either left-back or left wing-back whilst on England duty, Shaw often has City defender Kyle Walker fulfilling the same duty on the opposite flank.
For Shaw, being able to take Walker's pace and add it to his own personal armoury would be of use.
The United defender added: "Even though I am quick already, I probably would take Kyle Walker’s pace. He is so quick and people rarely get around him because players know they won’t get around him because of how quick he is.
"It is not worth trying. When he was playing against PSG, even players like [Kylian] Mbappe and Neymar know it is not worth trying."
