Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot explains pulse goal celebration

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has explained that his new 'check your pulse' goal celebration has been inspired by playing Uno with his international teammates.

Dalot has found game time hard to come by at United so far this season, with just two substitute appearances to his name, but he impressed while on loan at AC Milan last season, making 33 appearances and managing to score two goals, as well as lay on three assists.

The versatile full-back will be hoping he can earn his way into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side and have a similar impact at Old Trafford, and if he manages to add to his goal tally at the club then he knows what his celebration will be.

Dalot checked his pulse as he celebrated after he scored a header in the 4-0 victory over Everton in pre-season and now he has explained where the unique pose came from.

"Ah yes ‘check the pulse’!" he told United Review. "It’s a funny thing. I had a couple of friends in the national team and we were playing Uno and, when we are putting down the +4 cards, everybody was like this [points to neck] because we didn’t have any more +4 cards.

“So it was a funny thing and, after that, we thought it could be a group celebration if we scored in the national team, which hasn’t happened yet.

"But, after that, we decided that every time one of us scored, we would do it.

“It’s an original thing, it’s not something I’ve seen before and it’s a good one! [Laughs]

“I will definitely do it for my next goal!"
