Manchester United defender Amy Turner seals transfer exit

Manchester United have confirmed the departure of defender, Amy Turner as she joins the National Women's Soccer League side, Orlando Pride.

A product of Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United's girls' teams, Turner made her FA Women's Premier League debut for Doncaster Rovers Belles at the age of 16.

After being informed she "wasn't good enough to play at that level", she moved to Notts County and Liverpool, eventually joining United in 2018.

She made 67 appearances for the club, scoring four goals in her three year tenure.

The 29-year old express her sadness at leaving Old Trafford and explained the new challenge that lay ahead of her on her social media.

She tweeted: "In what has been one of the toughest decisions of my career so far, today I announce that I am leaving Manchester United and embarking on a new challenge with Orlando Pride in the USA."

"After ten years in the WSL [Women's Super League], I have always wanted to test myself abroad and am incredibly excited to have been given the opportunity to do so."

"I'm so grateful to have been part of this club's history, being a part of it's first-ever women's team and I feel lucky to have met such wonderful people along the way."
