Manchester United dealt big injury blow as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provides update ahead of Chelsea

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will miss the game against Chelsea in midweek after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted he could be out until December.

The Frenchman has not featured yet this month for the Red Devils due to a troublesome ankle injury, with the midfielder's last appearance for United coming in a 1-1 draw with Arsenal in September.

But United boss Solskjaer has admitted that the 26-year-old is facing a few more weeks on the sidelines, and may not feature until December.

As such, Pogba will miss the Carabao Cup tie with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

“I don’t think we’ll see him maybe before December," Solskjaer said, speaking after the 3-1 win against Norwich City this afternoon (Sunday).

"He’ll be out for a while. He needs time to fully, fully recover. I’m not the doctor but there is an injury that needs healing. Ankle rather than foot.”

United have five fixtures currently scheduled in November, including three Premier League games against Bournemouth, Brighton & Hove Albion and Sheffield United, and Europa League games against Partizan Belgrade and Astana.

Manchester United also face some big games in early December, including Premier League clashes against Aston Villa, Tottenham and Manchester City in the first week of the month.
