Manchester United confirmed squad to face Man City: Edinson Cavani out as Anthony Martial returns

Edinson Cavani has not travelled with the Manchester United squad ahead of Sunday's derby at Man City.

Cavani looked to be returning to fitness after facing Crystal Palace having missed the previous four games, but was not with his team-mates on Saturday evening at The Lowry Hotel.

Injured trio Donny van de Beek, Paul Pogba and Juan Mata remain out.

Anthony Martial and youngsters Shola Shoretire and Amad Diallo are available, however.

David De Gea contines to be absent following the birth of his daughter. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told reporters this week: "I’ll give him the time he needs before he comes back.

"He asked to go home and in the old world that’s a day and you come back and you’re ready again and now we’re in a pandemic and the quarantines of course it’s a different world but still we felt it was right.

Dean Henderson will continue to deputise for a third game in a row.
