Manchester United confirm Ole Gunnar Solskjaer press conference ahead of Tottenham fixture

Manchester United have confirmed that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will address the media ahead of Saturday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur at the usual time of 1:30pm on Friday lunchtime.

Following Sunday's 5-0 hammering at the hands of Liverpool at Old Trafford, speculation concerning Solskjaer's future has been rife, with a growing number of United fans having been expecting the club to sack the under-fire Norwegian.

Although United were understood to have been considering sacking Solskjaer on Monday, the former striker has remained in charge and been working hard with his players at the club's Carrington training base throughout the week, all in effort to bounce back against Tottenham on Saturday evening.

A growing number of United fans have been calling for the club to make a change, despite Solskjaer's legendary status at Old Trafford, with Sunday's defeat to Jurgen Klopp's side, for most, the final straw.

Nevertheless, confirmation of Friday lunchtime's press conference, at the usual time of 1:30pm, confirms it is business as usual at United.

The Norwegian will speak to journalists via Zoom and fans will be able to watch the media briefing in full, via United's usual stream, on MUTV, ManUtd.com and on the official United app.

Questions about his future will be at the forefront, along with his players' reaction to the defeat to Liverpool, and the United boss will also provide an injury update on Raphael Varane and any other fitness concerns ahead of the trip to the capital.

The clash with Spurs signals the start of a huge week in United's season, with a clash with Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League to follow the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, before United welcome local rivals Manchester City to Old Trafford next Saturday.
