Manchester United have confirmed on-loan Jack Butland has departed the club, with the goalkeeper signing for Scottish Premiership side Rangers.
Butland joined the Reds in January on loan from Crystal Palace after previous second choice keeper Martin Dubravka was recalled by Newcastle United. But Butland failed to make a single appearance as Erik ten Hag opted to stick with David de Gea between the sticks, although he was on the bench for the FA Cup final.
With his loan now ending and his Palace contract up, Butland has opted to join the Glasgow giants on a four-year deal which begins on July 1.
Taking to Twitter, the England international thanked the fans and United for the time he spent in Manchester.

He wrote: "It was short and sweet, but an unreal experience being with the team I’ve supported since a young boy. The staff, players, fans & everyone involved with the club are another level. Disappointing to end the season like we did but this team is going places once again and everyone should be excited. Thank you Manchester United."
Recently, Butland spoke to MUTV about his time at Old Trafford. "It's been awesome," he admitted. "It isn’t until you get here and see the whole scale, seeing a matchday from a home perspective as a Man United player, that you really get a true glimpse of what Man United's about. It doesn't really hit home until you actually put on the United shirt or the kit for the first time.
"The excitement was high, obviously, for a while. It was more than what I expected. You don't want to be disappointed when you come in and I certainly wasn't. It was what I expected and more. I've loved every minute."
