Manchester United complain to FA after Everton women's game postponed

Manchester United have written to the Football Association after their match with Everton was postponed earlier this month.

Willie Kirk's side were set to host Casey Stoney's women at Walton Hall Park for a Continental Cup clash on November 4, but the match was called off due to concerns around the stadium.

The United boss has now revealed that they have submitted a letter to the FA about the timing of the cancellation.

Stoney said [via the BBC ]: "We've put a letter to the FA from our perspective as a club because we felt rules were breached in terms of [there being] less than 24 hours' notice. There should be consequences to that.

"We felt it was a problem that should be fixed that wasn't. Therefore we have gone to the FA with our view on it and we're waiting to hear back from them."

Kirk said last week that the Blues had gone to the FA with two potential dates to reschedule the game, both being midweek options in December.

He added: "Hopefully we can get that game played as soon as possible."
