Manchester United coach Michael Carrick identifies biggest advantage of training camp

Michael Carrick says Manchester United coaches have been able to give a lot more 'detail and information' to players during their winter break in Marbella.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are currently undergoing a warm weather training camp in Spain as they look to make the most of the inaugural Premier League mid-season break.

United flew out to Marbella last weekend and have spent the past few days undergoing a number of different training exercises in the Spanish heat.

The training camp has given Bruno Fernandes a good chance to integrate with his new teammates while Scott McTominay and Axel Tuanzebe have stepped up their recoveries from injury.

However, Carrick believes the entire squad has benefited from the camp with coaches able to give more detailed training sessions thanks to the weather conditions.

"It is a great chance for the lads to have a few days away and mentally switch off," Carrick told the United app.

"Which I think they needed and it is going to help them going forward and then to come now and get back down to business and get a good week's work in.

"It is something that you can't spend much time standing around in back at the training ground because of the weather, so it is a different type of training we can do here.

"We can get a lot more information and detail across and enjoy the sunshine. It just creates a better environment for the training sessions. It's a good weeks work for us, and the facilities are fantastic. We are happy to be here."
