Manchester United 'chase Dani Olmo' as Paul Pogba replacement and more transfer rumours

Paul Pogba's final Manchester United league game could have been the red card in the dismal defeat to Liverpool last month, with the club reportedly setting their sights on selling the midfielder in January.

The 28-year-old France international limped off in one of the first training sessions of the November international break after suffering damage to his thigh muscle, with the injury likely to keep him out until January.

And with Pogba's United contract due to expire in the summer, the Daily Star reports that the club would be open to cutting their losses on a midfielder they spent £89m for in 2016 — despite initially holding hopes of keeping him until the summer.

Juventus, PSG and Real Madrid has previously registered interest in the World Cup winners' services, but could hold off until the summer to land him on a free.

Pogba has missed United's past two Premier League contests following his red card for a late lunge on Naby Keita, and may have played his final game in a red shirt.

The early signs of his thigh injury mean he could miss between eight to 10 weeks of action.

Meanwhile, United are reportedly challenging Barcelona in the signature of RB Leipzig attacker Dani Olmo.

El Nacional reports that the Reds have already held talks with the former La Masia prospect but the German's demands for the Spain international could be a stumbling block.

Xavi, who took over at his boyhood club this month, has sounded out the 23-year-old as a player he'd like in his ranks as he looks to turn Barcelona's fortunes round after picking the ruins left by Lionel Messi's departure and a poor La Liga start by previous boss Ronald Koeman.
