Harry Maguire has endured a tough return to the Manchester United squad after returning from a short injury lay-off, and the defender has now received downgrades to some of his in-game stats following a string of poor performances.
Maguire was seemingly rushed back into action when United shipped four against Leicester City after the international break, and it didn't get any better yesterday when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side was dismantled by Liverpool at Old Trafford - the Reds winning 5-0 as Maguire looked shaky at the back.
These lacklustre performances from Maguire at the heart of the United defence have been reflected in the latest squad update on FIFA 22, with EA Sports handing the 28-year-old a selection of downgrades to his in-game stats.
The newest FIFA 22 squad update was released on Friday, October 22 2021, with fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal, Manchester City and Brighton all receiving big changes based on their seasons so far.
The squad update is available to download now on all platforms including PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
So, what stats did Harry Maguire receive a downgrade in? Let's take a look.
Maguire's marking and long passing have both been downgraded by two ratings each - the former from 87 to 85 and the latter from 84 to 82.
Along with his stats, the English defender has seen his defensive work rate decrease from high to medium - with EA seemingly thinking Maguire's defensive work rate and ability to work hard going towards his own goal has dropped over the course of the season so far.
Understandably, the defender's marking has dropped based on his last couple of performances.
Maguire's marking was at fault for Caglar Soyuncu and Patson Daka's goals against Leicester, whilst the 28-year-old was dragged away from his player too often against Liverpool - allowing the Reds to be rampant in their attack.
The defender did receive some upgrades in the latest update, though. His standing tackle (83-84), jumping (85-88) and volleys (47-49) all increased, potentially helping Maguire maintain his overall rating of 84.
In the squad update, David De Gea was the only other United player to receive any sort of changes to his stats, with the 'keeper receiving only one in-game stat upgrade along with his overall and potential rating changing.
The Spanish 'keeper has been in good form this season as he looks to refind his best-in-the-world status, and his performances have been noticed by EA with his overall and potential rating improving from 84 to 85, whilst his reactions also increased from 83 to 85.
