Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that James Garner will be heading out on loan this season.
The 20-year-old midfielder spent last season on loan at Forest and he is 'close' to returning to the City Ground for another season.
He made 20 appearances for Forest last term and earned rave reviews from supporters, teammates and coaches before he returned to Man United over the summer.
Garner has represented England at every level from under-17 to under-20 and an impressive full year at the City Ground could earn him a maiden under-21 call-up.
United boss Solskjaer has confirmed that a loan deal is "more or less done" for Garner, with Nottingham seemingly set to be his destination.
"I would definitely think Jimmy will go on loan, that's more or less done, he's done really well in pre-season and really impressed me," Solskjaer said.
"For his career, another season or another six months playing regularly will help him."
Meanwhile, Forest boss Chris Hughton has said that his aims for the season will be based on how Forest do in the transfer market between now and the August 31 deadline.
"My aims haven’t changed, only because my aims in the summer were always going to be based on where we were come the end of the window,” he said.
"On the first day of pre-season, I don't think you can speak about a finishing position or being in the top two, top six or whatever, until you know the squad you will have come the end of the window.
"By then, I think I will have a better grasp of what the capabilities of this squad will be.”
