Manchester United beat Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur lose to Leicester City

Manchester United's 1-0 win over Fulham on Sunday has come as relief for their manager Ruben Amorim, alleviating relegation concerns following Lisandro Martinez's fortunate deflected goal, which secured a crucial win for the Red Devils. In controst the scrutiny around Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou increased after their 1-2 defeat against Leicester City.

Both United and Fulham struggled to create clear opportunities until the Argentine's shot took a decisive touch off Sasa Lukic and looped beyond Bernd Leno.

The hosts nearly equalised when Joachim Andersen's header was cleared off the line by Toby Collyer, but United held firm to secure three points and climb to 12th position.

Tottenham, meawhile surrendered their advantage on home turf, suffering their sixth loss in seven league matches.

Postecoglou's team currently occupies 15th position, maintaining only an eight-point gap from the relegation zone, having secured just one victory in their previous 11 Premier League fixtures.

Richarlison's header gave the hosts the lead, but Leicester's fortunes turned with Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss scoring twice within four minutes after the restart, bringing an end to their seven-match losing run in the league.

The win eased pressure on Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, as the win takes them to a position just above the relegation zone.

In Birmingham, Aston Villa's aspirations for consecutive Champions League qualifications suffered a setback as a depleted West Ham side fought back to secure a 1-1 draw.

Villa maintain their eighth position, four points behind the top four, while West Ham occupy the 14th spot.

At Selhurst Park, Brentford secured a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace in a match marked by contentious penalty decisions.

In a dramatic turn of events, Brentford were awarded a penalty in the 66th minute after Maxence Lacroix's foul on Nathan Collins. Initially, Bryan Mbeumo's penalty struck the woodwork, but VAR intervened as Palace's Marc Guehi was spotted entering the area prematurely.

With a second opportunity presented, Mbeumo successfully converted the penalty, deceiving Dean Henderson to register his 14th goal of the campaign.

Brentford extended their advantage in the 80th minute through Kevin Schade, before Palace's debutant Romain Esse made an instant impact, scoring with his first touch five minutes afterwards.
