Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero was in a car crash in his Lamborghini near to the club's training ground, according to reports.
The Argentine shot-stopper escaped is understood to be okay after the crash and trained with his teammates today.
Images show a white sports car crumpled underneath a crash barrier on the A6144 in Ashton, next to where the Red Devils train.
Footage showed the footballer stood next to the wreckage in the aftermath of the crash on Monday morning.
The 32-year-old has been part of the club's first team squad since he signed in 2015. He played in goal and secured a clean sheet when they won the Europa League final in 2017.
Romero was an unused substitute as the side lost to Liverpool at the weekend. He was trained alongside the rest of the squad as they prepare to face Burnley on Wednesday.
Greater Manchester Police said the road was closed for a short period of time and recovery of the vehicle was being coordinated.
A spokesman said: "Police were called shortly before 10am following a collision on Carrington Spur, Sale between a Lamborghini Gallardo and Vauxhall Astra.
"There are no reports of injuries and no arrests have been made."
The road has fully reopened and enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
