Manchester United are one transfer away from completing dream attack

Manchester United are now just one signing away from completing former midfielder Ryan Giggs' dream attack.

That is because the Welshman, who spent almost 30 years as a player at Old Trafford, has previously admitted that United winger Marcus Rashford and summer signing Jadon Sancho ranked in his top three youngsters to watch in the world.

After several years of being linked with Sancho, United finally secured his signature last month, landing him in a £72.9million deal from Borussia Dortmund.

The England international stepped off the bench to make his debut during the second half of last Saturday's 5-1 win over Leeds United and will now be looking to bag his first start against Southampton on Sunday afternoon at St Mary's.

With Sancho now joining Rashford at Old Trafford, United's future appears to be exceptionally bright, with both players either 23-years-old or younger.

However, it was not only Sancho and Rashford that were lauded by Giggs last year when he declared his views on the most promising youngsters in the world, insisting that he was also very impressed by Sancho's former Dortmund team-mate Erling Haaland.

Speaking in May 2020, Giggs, as quoted by the Mirror, said: "I’ve seen him [Rashford] coming through the ranks, such a talented player.

"And you have Jadon Sancho at Dortmund, a young player who’s made the bold decision to leave Manchester City and go to another country at a young age. And he really has made a difference.

"His team-mate as well, Erling Haaland who’s scoring lots of goals."

Haaland, of course, is considered as one of the best players on the planet already, despite only recently turning 20-years-old. His ceiling is unthinkable and the qualities that he has displayed in the past 12 months or so have been incredible to watch.

United have identified Haaland as their long-term target to strengthen their attacking ranks, so Giggs, eventually, could see all three of the youngsters he picked out lining up at Old Trafford.
