Manchester United appear to have boarded up sections of Old Trafford ahead of the visit of Liverpool in the rearranged Premier League fixture on Thursday.
The fixture between the two was postponed at the start of the month after thousands of United supporters descended on Old Trafford to protest against the Glazers' ownership.
The protest officially got underway at 2pm but it didn't take long for events to take a dramatic twist as hundreds of fans broke into the stadium and stormed the Old Trafford pitch.
As a result of the scenes, Liverpool were unable to leave their hotel in central Manchester and the Premier League was forced to delay the kick-off.
The game was eventually officially called off with the Premier League rearranging the fixture last week for this Thursday.
And now it appears that United are beefing up their security around the ground ahead of this week’s match.
In an image posted on Twitter on Monday morning, a workman can be seen boarding up parts of Old Trafford to prevent supporters from gaining access to the stadium.
Writing on the social media site, @Gezz_MUFC said: “Hello, @adidas, @kohler, I went buy a @ManUtd shirt at the Old Trafford Megastore but I got scared and put off when I saw it looked like a warzone or prison.
“Would you care to address a concerned customer as to what's going on?”
And speaking last week, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes some of his club’s supporters crossed the line during the protests.
He said: "It was a difficult day for us. We wanted to play, we wanted to beat Liverpool for the fans even, because our job has to be on getting good performances, good results on the pitch, that's the players' focus, that's my focus
"As I said before the game, we have to listen, we have to hear the fans' voice, it's everyone's right to protest, it has to be in a civilised, peaceful manner, though.
"Unfortunately, when you break in, when police officers get injured, that's too far, that's one step too far. When it gets out of hand like this it's a police matter, it's not about showing opinions any more.”
