Manchester United and Tottenham fans will love Martin Keown's Arsenal prediction

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes that the Gunners will miss out on the top our and that Manchester United will clinch the final spot.

The Gunners currently sit in fifth place behind Chelsea and Tottenham but two points in front of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

Defeat to Everton last weekend brought home a stark remind of the struggles Unai Emery's men have had on the road despite already matching last season's points total.

Arsenal travel away once again when they face Watford on Monday night and Keown believes that will be one of a number of tricky ties for his former team.

The astonishing Alexis Sanchez figures that will stun Arsenal and Manchester United fans

The pundit told talkSPORT: “I don’t think they will [finish in the top four]. I think Manchester United will squeeze into that.

"It’s the away form that’s going to cost Arsenal this year, unless Emery can find a way to improve away from home.

“They’ve got to go to Leicester, Watford and Wolves. If Emery can sort out a system that makes Arsenal as effective away from home as they are at home, they end up in the top four and they may well win the Europa League.

“It’s there for him, but he’s got to sort that out."

The former Gunner also noted his disappointment that Aaron Ramsey would be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Premier League permutations: Champions League place confirmed, what an Arsenal win would mean

He said: “It’s hugely disappointing to lose a player like Ramsey after his development, coming from Cardiff at 18 and developing into the leader of the pack,” Keown added.

“He’s the most valuable player and the most important player because he’s making the extra numbers breaking from midfield. He’s got such great energy and his technique now is way better.

“The fact he won’t be there next season is hard to take.”
