Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has been warned that his spell in charge could hinge on two weeks in March.
The 63-year-old has won two and drawn one of his three games before a Covid outbreak saw two postponements heading into Christmas, as the club look to climb the table back into the top four.
United currently sit five points off the pace, with those two games in hand, but Rangnick's mission could come down to 14 crucial days in three months' time.
"If you look at their fixtures as well, March is going to be a defining month for Man United," former Arsenal player Perry Groves told talkSPORT.
"They play Man City away, Spurs at home, Liverpool away and they’ve got the second leg of Atletico Madrid in the Champions League."
A daunting fixture list for Rangnick to navigate but, according to Groves, the interim boss has the players to achieve his end-of-season aims.
"Manchester United should be nailed on for the [top four]," he said.
"If Ralf Rangnick doesn’t get Manchester United fourth, he shouldn’t be anywhere near Manchester United."
