Manchester United and Motherwell starlets help make up latest Scotland youth squad

Motherwell prospects Adam MacDonald, Lennon Miller and Bailey Rice have been called up to the Scotland U-17 squad this month alongside players from the likes of Everton and Manchester United.

MacDonald turned professional this summer at the Fir Park club, with teenage pair Miller and Rice both members of the 'Well academy.

Miller - son of ex-Scotland international Lee - made an unforgettable Scotland debut in August when he scored from inside his own half against England.

Jack Kingdon and Malachi Sharpe of Manchester United have been called into the squad while Everton's Cameron Bell is also included.

There are other highly-rated players named in the squad, including Ethan Laidlaw of Hibernian, who has been tracked by a host of Premier League clubs in recent months.

Head coach Brian McLaughlin has named a 19-man squad for Scotland's Under-17 Championship qualifiers, which are to be held in Northern Ireland later this month and in early November.

Northern Ireland will come first for the young Scots before tests against Albania and Italy.
