Manchester United and Man City transfer target Joao Felix provides update on his future

Benfica starlet Joao Felix will let "things happen naturally" over his future as he continues to be linked with a summer transfer to Manchester United and Manchester City.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a stunning season for the Eagles, scoring or assisting 31 goals in 43 appearances. That haul includes a hat-trick in the Europa League quarter-final against Eintracht Frankfurt and Felix's displays this season have alerted some of Europe's biggest clubs.

Benfica have insisted they will demand the full £105million release clause if they are to sell Felix, who is in Portugal's squad for the Nations League finals next month and could make his international debut.

But the youngster is continuing to be linked with a move this summer and United and City have been touted as possible destinations for the attacking midfielder.

Felix insists he's happy playing for the club after his breakthrough season and will not rush into a decision over his future.

"I think that time will tell. I'm good here, I'm very happy, I love the club," he told Benfica's official website .

"I adore these fans who adore me. I want to enjoy the moment, play ball, have fun doing what I like, and then, over time, things happen naturally. I am very happy in Benfica."

Benfica president Luís Filipe Vieira might be a key figure in any transfer saga this summer and Felix has revealed he has a good relationship with him.

"The relationship is very good, he always makes me feel at ease," he said.

"We have been talking a lot in recent times, he has cherished me a lot, he likes me very much. He says he treats me like a son, and I believe he does. He's a great person and I really like him too."
