Manchester United and Man City fans make same Raheem Sterling point after Wolves VAR decision

Manchester City and Manchester United fans both have reason to question the consistency of VAR after Ruben Neves' strike for Wolves vs United on Monday night in the Premier League.

Neves curled in an exquisite striker to level for Wolves against United at Molineux, but the goal was put in doubt when VAR reviewed a possible offside.

Neves had received the ball from Joao Moutinho, after a quick one-two from a corner. But replays showed Moutinho's shoulder could have been offside when he took it back. Eventually, VAR deemed there to have been no offside, and the goal stood.

However, the incident had plenty of parallels to a goal disallowed for City on the opening weekend, when a perfect run from Raheem Sterling was deemed offside by a matter of millimetres.

On that occasion, VAR judged Sterling's shoulder to be offside, but Moutinho's shoulder was not ruled offside on Monday.

Typically, the inconsistency between the two decisions led City fans to question why their goal had been disallowed, while United fans wanted the same rule applied to chalk out Neves' strike.
