Manchester street taped off after reports of a shooting

A street in Manchester has been taped off following reports of a shooting.

Police were called to Winstanley Road, in Miles Platting just before midnight on Friday.

Further details about the incident have not yet been released, however GMP confirmed that no one had been injured, and that no arrests had been made at this time.

Any investigation is underway, and a cordon remains in place on Winstanley Road.

Photos show a number of police vehicles at the scene, which is not far from Oldham Road.

GMP said in a statement: "At around 11.55pm on Friday, March 13, police were called to a report of a firearms discharge on Winstanley Road in Manchester.

"No one was injured and no arrests have been made.

"A police cordon is in place on Winstanley road as officers continue their investigations."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 61146, quoting incident number 3347 of March 13.
