A horrified witness has described the blood soaked scene after two people - thought to be a father and son - were stabbed in central Manchester.
Police were called shortly after midday to what has been described as a "targeted attack".
One man was taken to hospital, while another was treated at the scene.
It happened in Piccadilly Gardens in front of shocked shoppers.
Gemma Hepworth, 36, told Mirror Online: "I’d just come out of an [acting] audition and went into Morrisons for lunch. I’d only been in there five minutes.
"It must have happened so quickly, staff were saying there must have been a fight.

"As I walked out there were crowds around the two men who were laid on the floor, one had blood on his face and two women were holding his stomach and the other man I couldn’t see.
"People were phoning the police and ambulance."
And she continued: "Someone said he had been stabbed and calling them ‘b******’.
"The Morrisons staff were coming out with their first aid kits and bandages.

"I was frantically looking for a cab with a Rapaid sticker in the window as they are more heavy duty bandages.
"The police were then clearing us away from the scene as a crowd was starting to form quickly."
Other witnesses told the Manchester Evening News that five or six people - some wearing hoods - were involved in a fight and one of the men who was attacked appeared to be fitting afterwards.
Another person said a gang of around five or six people wearing hoods were involved in the asssault.

In a statement Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 12.10pm today (Monday 10 February 2020), police were called to reports of an assault on Piccadilly, Manchester City Centre.
"One man has been taken to hospital with injuries which aren’t believed to be life threatening. Another man is receiving treatment at the scene for minor injuries.
"An investigation is underway although officers are currently treating this as a targeted attack. There is no threat to the wider community.
"No arrests have been made."
The men were attacked on the street corner in front of a Morrisons and the two men were kicked as they lay on the floor, witnesses said.
Officers arrived within moments and ran off after the suspects while the two injured men were tended to.

Piccadilly Gardens was previously named one of the country's worst crime hotspots, and the 'zombie' drug Spice and drug trafficking were among the reasons why, the MEN reported.
Last month, there were two serious stabbing incidents in Piccadilly Gardens in the space of 48 hours.
A 15-year-old boy was hospitalised following the first stabbing, which happened on January 10.
In the other incident, four homeless men were knifed in a stabbing spree on the evening of January 12.
One of the men told how he needed 18 stitches after being slashed across the face, and claimed another victim received 180 stitches for a knife wound, the MEN reported at the time.
