Temperatures are set to rise across the weekend, with weather forecasters predicting Manchester will see its hottest day of the year.
On Saturday, April 15, temperatures are set to soar to 21C in the afternoon according to the Met Office, falling slightly to highs of 18C on Sunday. The "very pleasant" spring conditions could beat the hottest temperature recorded in 2022 prior to today, with highs of 20.8C recorded in the South of England at the end of March.
Experts predicted today's glorious weather could beat the 2022 high, with temperatures hitting 20.2C in West London by 1pm this afternoon - expected to rise to 23C by late afternoon. Although they were slightly off, the mercury did hit a new 2022 high in St James' Park in central London, peaking at 22C.

Met Office forecaster Richard Miles said although most places will experience fine and dry weather, some areas in the North West may experience the occasional shower, making eastern areas the most desirable destination for weather over the weekend. “Largely it’s going to be pleasant until Sunday for most areas across the UK,” he said.
“The warmest weather will probably be on Friday, but it will stay well above average for most of Saturday and Sunday too. The average temperature for this time of year is roughly 12C – so it will be around 10C warmer for an April day.”
Although Manchester won't see any record-breaking temperatures, the expected highs of 21C will be the hottest the region's seen so far in 2022 - although there might be a sprinkling of cloud over the region making it seem a little cooler. There is a fairly low chance of rain across the Bank Holiday weekend, with the precipitation chance never raising above 10 per cent.
Temperatures this Easter weekend are one of the nicest the UK's seen for this time of year, sitting at more than 10C above average. Saturday will be the best of the Bank Holiday weather wise, whilst temperatures will be a little lower on Sunday, peaking at highs of 18C and lows of 8C, before dropping even lower on Monday - to highs of 13C.
The forecast according to the Met Office reads: "A fine start to Saturday with an increasing number of bright spells. Staying dry throughout the day. Hazy sunshine in the afternoon and feeling warm, though cooler along the coast. Maximum temperature 21 °C. Warm and largely dry on Easter Day, though thicker cloud arriving later. Feeling cooler on Easter Monday with a risk of early rain. Sunny spells and isolated showers for Tuesday."
