Manchester's famous Curry Mile has been named as one of Brits' top bucket list experiences in the UK.
The Curry Mile - the nickname for the stretch of Wilmslow Road that runs through Rusholme , is famed for its wealth of quality Indian restaurants.
In fact, it has the largest concentration of Asian restaurants in one place in the whole of the UK. At it's peak, there were more than 50 curry houses on the strip, serving predominantly Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine.
While the number of curry houses has declined in recent years, making room for shisha bars, takeaways and an increasing number of specialist Arabic and Middle Eastern restaurants, it's still considered the best place in the country to get a curry.
So it's hardly surprising it's firmly on the list of things Brit's want to experience before they kick the bucket.
Research by Travelodge found that 53% of British adults made a New Year's resolution to start a UK bucket list in 2020.
The budget hotel firm has now unveiled the experiences that proved most popular with would-be adventurers. And many of the other entries on the list are close proximity of Manchester, too.
With the Peak District on our doorstep (no 7), the Lake District just a short drive away (no 8 and 36) and North Wales being a popular spot with day trippers (no 19 and 47), it will be easy to get a head start on completing the list.
Not forgetting that the Flying Scotsman is due a trip to Greater Manchester later this year (no 15) and the fact we have countless traditional countryside pubs to visit for Sunday lunch (no 48), you really don't need to venture far.
