Manchester police issue appeal to trace man with links to Kilmarnock

Manchester police say they're becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a man who's been missing for two days.

John Ferguson was last seen at around 1pm on Thursday, August 29 in Manchester City Centre.

He was seen on Brown Street, heading in the direction of the Manchester Arndale.

The 62-year-old has family in Kilmarnock and relatives believe he could have made his way to Ayrshire.

John - who is also known as “Jock” - is described as white, 5ft 11ins tall and of slim build. He has shaven grey hair, a full grey beard and wears glasses.

He has a Scottish accent and was wearing a blue flat cap, blue jeans, black jacket, mottled grey zipped top, a blue T-shirt and boots.

Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for John and want to make sure he is safe and well.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 0161 856 4409.
