If you're looking for a challenge this new year, then the Manchester Marathon could be the answer.
Tens of thousands of runners took to the streets for last year's event, making it one of the five biggest marathons in Europe - and the second largest in the UK.
Don't worry if you're not quite up to speed... it's still a few months away.
The 26.2 mile route takes a new direction in 2020 as participants take to the city centre for the first time in a three-mile loop.
Some iconic landmarks are showcased in the route, including the Manchester Opera House, Spinningfields, Albert Memorial Hall, and The Midland Hotel.
The start will remain in its present location under the White City Arch, with the world-famous backdrop of Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium. Runners will complete their extraordinary achievement at the finishing line at Trafford Town Hall and Lancashire Cricket Club.
But when is it?
This year, the Manchester Marathon will take place on Sunday, April 5 2020.
How to enter
Registration opened in September 2019, offering 5,000 early places on a first come, first served basis.
