Manchester man wanted by police after Easter robbery at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

A Manchester man is wanted by police after a security driver was stabbed in the back and robbed at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Police were called to the attraction just after 1.30pm on Easter Monday to reports of a cash-in-transit robbery.

They say a security guard was confronted by a man as he delivered cash to the theme park, close to the Withnell Road entrance.

The victim was stabbed with a knife and suffered minor injuries to his back.

The robber escaped with the cash box the security guard had been carrying.

Detectives are now trying to trace Thomas Walker, from Manchester, in connection with the robbery.

The 28-year-old is also wanted after absconding from HMP Thorn Cross in Warrington on March 29.

DS Lee Kelly from Blackpool Police said: "It is important we trace Thomas Walker as soon as possible given the serious nature of this incident.

"If you have seen him or know of his whereabouts, please contact us immediately."

Walker is described as white, around 5ft 7, of slim build with brown eyes and short brown hair.

He also has ties to Salford.

Anyone who may have seen Walker recently or knows his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 01253 604157 or email 3177@lancashire.pnn.police.uk.

Immediate sighting should be reported to Lancashire Police via 999.

Alternatively reports can be made via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
