A third of council seats in Manchester are up for grabs as residents go the polls in next month’s local elections.
One seat in 31 wards is being contested on Thursday, May 2, and two in Fallowfield following the resignation of Grace Fletcher-Hackwood.
Of the seats up for election, every one is currently held by Labour.
Labour, the Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats and the Green party are putting up candidates in each ward.
Ukip is fighting in 14 seats in the city while the Women's Equality party is contesting four seats.
The For Britain Movement, the Communist League and the Socialist Alternative are each putting forward candidates in one ward.
Among the big names contesting their seats include deputy leader Sue Murphy in Brooklands; executive housing member Suzanne Richards in Longsight; and city centre spokesperon Pat Karney in Harpurhey.

Executive member for environment and skills Angeliki Stogia will be contesting her seat in Whalley Range, while executive member for children's services Garry Bridges is up in Old Moat.
Voters will go to the polls on Thursday, May 2.
