A general practice in Burnage today temporarily closed ‘with immediate effect’ due to a three staff members testing positive for coronavirus.
Patients of Ladybarn Group Practice on Briarfield Road were today (July 30) sent a text message informing them of the practice's closure.
The message said all their phone lines would be diverted to an out of hours service until it reopened on Monday morning (August 3).
“Due to a local COVID19 outbreak we are closed with immediate effect until 0800 Monday 3rd August,” the message started with.

“This means our phones will divert to the GP Out of Hours service during this time.
“Our doctors will be working remotely for pre booked telephone consultations and prescription enquiries.”
The message said that patients with an urgent query could get in touch via the GP’s online service and someone would get back to them.
“We will not be able to see patients in person,” the message added.
“Thank you for your understanding and support during this time.”
In a statement, the practice confirmed three non-clinical staff had tested positive for coronavirus.
"Ladybarn Group Practice has identified three members of their non clinical staff who have unfortunately tested COVID-19 positive," the statement read.
"The outbreak has been brought under rapid control via track and trace.
"Local policy requires a short closure for deep cleaning and we look forward to re-opening on Monday 3rd August 2020 at 8.00 a.m.
"We would like to reassure all our patients that they are not at any additional risk."
