Manchester Food and Drink Festival celebrates 25 years announcing 2022 events

The Manchester Food and Drink Festival will return for its 25th anniversary this September, with a host of events planned as it takes over Cathedral Gardens. The festival will take place from September 15 to 26, with street food traders, bars and artisan producers descending on the city to show off their produce.

There will also be masterclasses from chefs, and other takeovers going on over the duration of the festival. Among them will be a ‘fire pit’ set up, sponsored by BBQ-makers Weber, featuring outdoor cookery from Sao Paulo Project’s Caroline Martins, Robert Owen Brown and Francisco Martinez from South American restaurant Fazenda.

Cookbook publisher Octopus will also be presenting a host of its food writers, including broadcaster Kate Humble, Lia Leendertz, Edd Kimber and Jeremy Pang. Cooks Pip Payne and Nicky Corbishley will be offering tips on making great food without breaking the bank, while 2018 Bake Off winner Rahul Mandal will be doing demonstrations too.

Meanwhile, a host of restaurants across the city will be offering up a £25 menu to help the festival celebrate its quarter century, including Thai barbecue hit District, Mi and Pho, Three Little Words, Shoryu Ramen, Tast and Society.
